LinuxQuestions.org - How do you get an emulator to work?

First I tried WINE (it is so an emulator!) (WINdows Emulator) (and I don't care what they say)
It will not work. I want to run quicken so I type wine quicken (until the HD dies I think I'll use quicken)and sometimes it says that it cannot find the configuaration file. Other times it fails with a status of 1.
Then I heard of bochs. From what I have read about it and what little I've seen of it it seems to pretend to be the M$ OS itself.
I really want this one to work but its screen appears and popup windows pop up stating:
Failed to open plex86 device

ata0/0 cannot have zero cylinders, heads, or sectors/tracks
&
