How do you generate a grub 2 pxe image?

I am trying to network boot grub 2. I have already set up a network boot server, and it works fine serving the debian pxe installer. I have looked at the grub 2 manual, but when I followed the instructions on this page, I got several errors: my grub-mkimage (version 1.96) doesn't support the --format option, and I do not have the pxe or pxecmd modules. I am running debian lenny with the grub2 package installed. Do I need to get another package or add another option?

Same problem. My grub-mkimage doesn't have the "--format" option. I think I'll install the newest version of grub2 from the source to see if a newer version supports it.

Sorry, let us know. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

Success!

After installing from source, grub-mkimage 1.99 (the latest version) does support the --format option (incidentally, the grub manual I looked at is for version 1.99). I don't have access to the computer I want to netboot just now, but I will post the result when I can test it.
