How do you disable going through a proxy in Debian?

When I installed Debian on my laptop, I told it to go through my proxy server at home. However, now the proxy server at home is broke and I can't download packages with my laptop.

There should be a (couple of) line(s) in your /etc/apt/apt.conf similar to this:
Code:
Acquire::http::Proxy "http://localhost:8000";
Acquire::ftp::Proxy "http://localhost:8000";
You should either remove the line(s) or put a # character at the front of the line(s) to comment it (them) out.
