how do i view .plt files in linux?

has anyone ever tried to use hpgl format or .plt files in linux? I know there is a filter you can install in MS office to view these in windows,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q196506/
but I have not seen a viewer in linux. Gimp doesn't seem to like to view them.

If anybody can help me I would appreciate it! Thanks!

A bit of Googling reveals there are several HPGS compatible tools. Do you want a free program or are you prepared to pay for a commercial one?

These free ones come up, but I have not tried them myself:

From June 2010 there is another way to open the .PLT (and a lot more) files using Uniconvertor 1.1.5.
And since Inkscape uses Uniconvertor to import different types of files, one can simply open the .PLT files with Inkscape and it will automatically convert them.
