How do I use a Linux partition from Windows XP?

Anybody knows how to use a linux partition with Windows XP?

I'd installed both systems and i can mount tha NTFS partition without problems but i cann't use the Linux partition with WinXP.

I'm using Red Hat 9.

you can do that with VMWare (i think), but that costs money, in excess of $100 US.

There is an app called Explore2fs which lets you view your ext2 formatted partitions. I've not used it myself, so I can't say how well it works (or doesn't work).

Yes, You can use Explore2fs for Ext2 and ext3 partitions.
Also you can download Total Commander and you can use it browse linux partitions - ext2 and ext3, but before that, you have to download plugin to access Linux partition

It depends on how you are defining "using a Linux partition with XP". As a general rule, Linux can read successfully from a Windows partition, but writing to a Windows partition is still very much in the Experimental stage, which generally means that although it can work successfully, don't be too surprised if it doesn't.

I had not been aware of tools (apart from VMware) that would permit XP to access a Linux partition, but evidently the Explore2fs does allow it. Thanks for the info. -- J.W.

If you are talking dual boot then it looks like your question has been answered but I have a roommate that uses my samba server from her XP laptop...so Samba is my 2 cents.

Hey!.. Thanks everyone for your answers. I tried downloading and installing Total Commander 6.02 on my WinXP partition and it works great!... I just wanted to use some files that i had on my Linux partition.

Yeah, Linux is always useful, even when Windoze is running. lol
