How do I setup Subversion using Apache in Linux (Ubuntu)

This might be a too big question here but I've been searching the web and haven't found any instructions that seem to work. The best I've found were from 2005 and part of it doesn't apply.

What I want to do is to setup a subversion repository on a server and make it possible to access it from different computers using apache. No ssl is needed since this will be only internal network.

Is there anyone who can explain how to do this (or knows of a good tutorial on it)?

Well, i don't use that software but i presume you will have to install some svn app.

Apache has modules for svn disk areas and stuff. I always disable them. So it is possible, just how exactly i am not sure.

Why not just run something like git. That seem more popular than what you are trying to do.

I've setup subversion already, but I need Apache to be able to access the repository from other machines.

Yes, I know about git/github, but I'm more used to Subversion. Which one is most popular I'm not sure about. I think git is more common in open source projects whereas subversion is more common in companies.

Like in many other cases, it is not difficult finding this sort of info. Here is a rough guide. For further assstance readup about the modules mentioned in the article. The apache website has tons of helpful stuff.
