how do I setup a PPOE connection in RH 9

I just got verizon DSL and they tell me I must connect via a PPOE connection. Can I do that in Red Hat 9.0?

Yes, you can, but you shouldnt have to do that via your computer. The modem you receive from them should have the ppoe software installed and ready to config via a web browser. If you get it and it doesnt, let us know.

You should set up Roaring Penguin's PPPOE software. I believe it's included with Redhat (I know it comes standard with Slack). Look for an rpm called rp-pppoe followed by a bunch of numbers.

Or you can go here:

http://www.roaringpenguin.com/products/rp-pppoe/

They've got rpm's.

Enjoy!
