How do I quickly delete all my system email?
I have about 1600 email messages from my system, I want to delete all of them, all at once. Any ideas?

Where are the messages (user mailbox, mail spool)?
What mail server?
What type of mail container (mbox, Maildir)?

Your post is incomplete & slightly ambiguous: - Where are these system msgs., i.e.:
- What user's acct. are they in?
- In what directory?
- Are there other msgs. you don't want to delete?
- What e-mail client have you been using?
- IMAP or POP3?
- What distro & DE are you using? (KMail might do this very quickly.)

I suspect he's logged in as "root" and looking at the command "mail" output where all the log summaries are, typically, found.
If that's the case, a d * followed by a q command should do the trick.

Reason: "x" not correct exit command to use.
