How do I open an ACSM filetype ?

ACSM stands for Adobe Content Server Manager. ACSM files are protected with Adobe DRM and only manages the download of an ebook.

I can attempt to install Wine with Adobe Digital Edition, but I have had bad experiences with Wine, so I'd rather not!
