how do i make the aterm read the ~/.Xdefaults file
i just copied a ~/.Xdefaults file to configure aterm..but when i start aterm it does not come up with the configurations that are on the file...i have it in my home directory...
the configurations look like this... aterm*loginShell:true aterm*transparent:true aterm*shading:60 aterm*background:Black aterm*foreground:White aterm*scrollBar:true aterm*scrollBar_right:true aterm*transpscrollbar:true aterm*saveLines:32767 aterm*font:*-*-fixed-medium-r-normal--*-140-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1 aterm*boldFont:*-*-fixed-bold-r-normal--*-*-140-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1 any ideas?????how do i make aterm read from this file....the file was not there originally.....any ideas.......... |
What distro,I think debian uses .Xresources or something

did you restart X? some distros require you restart X before it will read the .Xdefaults file...

i am using fedora 3..
i even restarted the computer |
okay it was just fedora being fedora...i used the Xresources instead of Xdefaults.....thanks guys...
