How Do I Make Mozilla FIrebird my default browser?
I can't even see to get it to put a shortcut on my desktop to work without running it in a terminal, much less getting it to be the default. Any ideas on how this can be done?
Thanks!

I am using RH 9, ximianized.
Hardware is XP 1700, 60 GIG HD, 32 MG AGP TNT2 vid
512 MG RAM
Sorry I didn't give enough detail.
Why am I not able to run the shell script using a launcher and mapping to /usr/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird? If I am in Nautilus, and I double click on the MozillaFirebird in the right window pane it will ask if I want to run, open, or run in terminal. It only works if I choose "Run in terminal". It then Firebird opes very quickly.
To create a shortcut I am right clicking, choosing a launcher, typing in /usr/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird, then clicking run in terminal. That is the only way I can get it to open. It is slow to open too. The term window sits there for a while (10 seconds or so) and then Firebird opens.
Is there a different way to create a shortcut?
Thanks!

Is anyone else out there using Mozilla Firebird as their browser of choice? If so, could you help me to understand how you got it working? I can't seem to find any details on it's setup at Mozilla.org.
Thanks!

"To create a shortcut I am right clicking, choosing a launcher, typing in /usr/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird, then clicking run in terminal. "
I don't think that you should have to open it in a terminal. If you can get it to work without starting a terminal you will speed up the startup time.
You could also try putting a symbolic link somwhere in your PATH to /usr/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird.
Is /usr/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird a script? If so you might look at the script to see if it is wasting time somehow.

O.K., I swear that I tried to open this app without checking "launch in terminal" and it didn't work, now that I've added it to the quick launch menu it works with out the terminal button checked!
I am confused, but
Thanks!

It now launches in about 2 seconds, instead of literally 10 seconds.
Thanks Again!
