How do I make an exact copy of a movie DVD

Hi guys

I've got 7 hours worth of wedding footgae on 4 DVD movies. I need to make copies of them onto DVD-Rs. I've tried using K3B with no success and am trying dvd::rip now, but I don't really want to rip it to an avi, I just need to make an exact copy that will play on a standalone DVD player.

I've searched through, doesn't seem to be that much out there, growisofs seems to be the best bet but it won't work on standard dvd players, can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

If you have a DVD recorder, you should be able to grab the bits from the disk and then dump them back out again with a standard utility like dd.

(perhaps dd if=/mounted/dvd of=/dvd/recorder)
