How do I make a shortcut to an executable?

Hi I'm still limping along with Sabayon. Sabayon uses "Portato" as a Portage GUI. I like having xkill available in the tray. Portato says that xkill is "installed" so I found it at /usr/bin and it works fine from that location but I want an icon on the desktop and/or an icon in the tray for it. Right clicking is not giving me an option to make a shortcut? How do I make a shortcut to xkill?

This depends on which window manager or desktop environment you are using.

Thanks, I think I got it. Instead of going to the file first I went to the desktop and one of the options is to make a shortcut. Doing that now....

Yeah, stupid question, sorry. It works great. Already got the standard icon replaced with a skull and crossbones.
