actually no! that's an old pic from windowz.
i tried installing and got stuck at the "chmod 755 ut-install-436-GOTY.run" part! when i put that line in the terminal, it showed some code then went crazy with garbage symbols like what a sound file looks like, but ya can't hear. QUESTION: do i need to pre-make the usr/games/ut file and THEN save the link target as "ut-install-436-GOTY.run" INTO that folder? Before i continue this install?
---------------------------------------------------------------
To Install UT GOTY under Debian Testing in bash:
1) xhost +
2) su -
3) export DISPLAY=:0.0
4) chmod 755 ut-install-436-GOTY.run
5) bash ut-install-436-GOTY.run
a) Select /usr/games/ut for install path
b) Select /usr/bin for link path
c) Insert CD 1 of 2 into your CD-Rom Drive
d) Hit the 'Begin Install' button
e) Follow the on screen instructions
f) Exit when complete
6) apt-get install umodpack
7) make sure all umod packs are downloaded
8) xumod
a) Unreal /usr/games/ut
b) Extract to .
c) Hit OK
c) Hit OK to create Manifest
d) File -> Open each of the BonusPacks (Control-o)
e) umod -> Install each of the Tabbed Entries (Control-i)
f) File -> Quit
9) Control-d to logout of root shell
10) /usr/bin/ut

has anyone found a way around the mounting issue? when I use the linux install script, It loads, I enter my key, it installs off of disc one but then it asks for disc two. I can't find anyway to switch my discs. I've umount /dev/hdc, switch discs, mount /dev/hdc/. It doesn't regester the second disc when I switch them. Any ideas?

You can use that to install Ut99 (I have and works fine). For UT2k4 I thought that the install script was included on the cd/dvd?
*Edit: just checked my dvd and there is a linux-installer.sh
