How do I install Ubuntu packages w/o Internet connect

I cannot get my wireless Internet device to work without kppp, but the Unbuntu 8.10 installation cd-rom does not include kppp. kppp has lots of dependencie so how do I download the everything I need to my laptop (XP Pro) where my AT&T USBConnect881 wireless device works, burn at cd-rom with the Ububtu packages, take it to other PC, and install it?

I have tried Ubuntu forum, but no one answers questions such as this one.

kppp is a part of KDE, as such it will not be in the default ubuntu installation CD, but it should be in the KUNBUNTU installation CD.

Kubuntu is ubuntu with KDE instead of GNOME.

The ubuntu installation CD contains ipppd which should get you up and running.

The following link may prove useful:

apt-cache depends -i kppp
this will show the dependancies needed by kppp that are not install (the -i option)
you will probably have to check the dependancies in the same way...

but you should use the gnome equivalent if you are using the gnome desktop as suggested... even if I am a big fan of KDE

hope this helps
