How do i install the other aplications ?

I have recently borrowed Mandrakelinux 10.0 of a friend, he gave me all 5 disks.

But what i can't understand is that CD1, installs the system. so what are CD2,3,4 & 5 for. I read in the features that Mandrake 10.0 has everything for development, which is what i really need as im familiar with C++ & java etc. But where are all the other applications and/or how do i install them ?

If they are on the other disks, do i have to install all the .rpm files ??

The CD's contain extra applications that you may or may not wish to install on your system. The download edition comes with three CD's and the box sets come with more. You don't have to install the apps from the other CD's but it's good to have copies of them in case you need to resolve dependencies.
