manthram 05-27-2003 08:31 PM

Well to find out your processor type do:

uname -p

Its most likely an i686 so download the newest i686 rpm.

Speednow 05-27-2003 09:03 PM

Ive installed the RPM i686... Not working aparently. It doesnt appear on the services area..

Any ideas?

try opening a X-term and typing:

$swat

See if that works.

What is the services area?

Speednow 05-27-2003 09:28 PM

When i typed $swat on Xterm nothing returns.

Services GUID on Red Hat 9. List of running programs.

What do you get when you do:

/etc/init.d/swat start

Speednow 05-27-2003 10:59 PM

No such file or directory

Crashed_Again 05-27-2003 11:04 PM

How did you install the rpm? It should create the script in /etc/init.d automatically when you install it.

Do you have your redhat discs? Try running(as root):

redhat-config-packages

and install SWAT from the nice gui. It will tell you to pop in one of the install cds and install it nice and good for you.

Speednow 05-27-2003 11:13 PM

I dont see SWAT listed on any of the packages.

RH9... Any other solution?

Crashed_Again 05-27-2003 11:17 PM

It should be under the Samba Section as an extra package.

Speed Now,

I use rh9 also and don't need SWAT. WHy don't you just use the built in config tool? Its under System Settings -> Server Settings -> Samba Server.
