How Do I Install Specific HP Drivers for My Printer?

I already have my HP F380 printer recognized by ubuntu 8.04. But, I want to install the specific drivers that came on the CD. I want the driver specific to the F380 printer, not the generic driver that is recognized automatically by ubuntu. How can I do this?

By the CD, I assume you mean the one that came with the printer. This will include only Window and Mac drivers. I think you can use something like NDISWrapper with the Windows driver, but first:
Download the latest printing SW including Gutenprint and HPLIP. See what your driver choices are then.
Try getting a Linux driver from the HP website, and installing it manually. (The Linux / Cups printer utilities give you this option.)
