Angry how do i install my modem drivers from a tar.gz file


I have just installed suse linux 9 prof and my modem doesn't get recognised so i have downloaded the appropriate driver. it came as a tar.gz file - This is where i'm stuck i dont know what to do with it! HELP!!

tar xzvf yourfilename.tar.gz

this will untar the tarball, there will probably be a readme file in the newly created directory. here is a little reading.
