How Do I Install LimeWire? Please Help!

I'm new on this board, and pretty much new to Linux. I tried downloading LimeWire for Linux, but I cannot install it in KDE.

I first downloaded the .bin file, but when I click on it nothing happens. Then, I downloaded the .tar.gz files, and I can decompress using that certain command which I forget now, but then non of the files that come up seem to be executable either.

Any help?

Shawn

i think if you clicked the .bin file its already installed try typing limewire in the shell and see what happens, or try this from the limewire website:
Linux - Open a shell and cd (change directory) to the directory where you downloaded the installer. At the prompt type: sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin

before you try to install limewire you need to install java, otherwise
limewire wont work, go to http://java.sun.com and download sdk 1.4 for linux, you are going to get another .bin file, go to http://home.bredband.no/gaulyk/java/...avaredhat.html
follow the instruction on how to install java for linux

now is time for you to install limewire,
do the following (where your file is):

chmod a+x LimeWire.bin

PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1_02/bin sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin

hope this helps,

let me know of it doesn't work

Thanks everyone, I'll try your solutions out when I have time and they'll hopefully work out.
