How do I install java plug-ins?
I am pretty new to Linux, and i wonder how to install java plug-in.
I have Red Hat Linux 9 and haven't installed any extra features yet, so i wonder what i need to install java plug-in and maybe if you could give me a tip of anything else i should install. One more thing... I can't get my mail function in linux to work with hotmail. Some tips there to would help a lot. Thanks in advance :) |
surf to java.sun.com and download a nice java-pack there, install it (it might even be a "self-extracting/installing binary file" or something), and then - if it doesn't automatically ask you, which it imo should do - just symlink a file to your plugins directory of the app you need. also, I suggest you get flash plugin for your browser. it's the same thing, just extract and symlink.. :)
