How do I install java and mplayer


i need easy explenation how to instal java and mplayer on my linux. I tried everything but i cant get the right file and idk how to install it. Can some1 tell me where to go and get the file. and then when i have it what to do to instal it. Like the command in terminal and such. Thank you

The title of your thread is a very poor. It should be something like, "Help Installing Java and Mplayer".

I installed mplayer, but I still can open the videos I want. Anyways can some1 tell me how to install java

Can you let us now what linux distribution you are using (like suggested above). I have edited the title of you thread to increase the exposure of your thread.

First you need to add the repositories of the Penguin Liberation Front:

urpmi.addmedia --update plf-free http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.f...ee/2006.0/i586 with hdlist.cz

urpmi.addmedia --update plf-nonfree http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.f...ee/2006.0/i586 with hdlist.cz

Then follow the instructions for Mandriva 2007 Spring, keep in mind your are working with 2006:
