which linux version are you using for SUSE they have an .rpm on ther site that makes it real easy.

i would search for a .rpm for red hat i would assume theres one for it as well

On many distributions it can be installed by just extracting the .tar.gz (for example)

firefox-0.9.1-i686-linux-gtk2+xft-installer.tar.gz

and then going into the directory and clicking on the installer - then follow through the wizard....
