I am a brand new Linux user. I am not a novice to computers, just Linux. I have been in the computer industry for 21 years but only on the Windows side.
Anyway, I downloaded and got Fedora Core 1 up and running on a machine. Now I need Java so that apps can run within Mozilla. I went to Sun's website and downloaded two flavors of the same program. One ends in .bin and the other ends in rpm.bin. My question is, how do I execute the program to install Java? Apparently double-clicking, a la Windows, does not work, it only opens a text editor and reveals what looks like a script.
Thanks in advance for any help.
