How do I emerge kopete?

It gives me an error:
----------------------------
!!! Error: the kde-base/kdenetwork package conflicts with another package;
!!! the two packages cannot be installed on the same system together.
!!! Please use 'emerge --pretend' to determine blockers.

For more information about Blocked Packages, please refer to the following
section of the Gentoo Linux x86 Handbook (architecture is irrelevant):

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handboo...full=1#blocked
-------------------------------
I then do "emerge -p kopete" and it says:
-------------------------------
[blocks B ] kde-base/kdenetwork (is blocking kde-base/kopete-3.5.5-r2)
[blocks B ] =kde-base/kdenetwork-3.5* (is blocking kde-base/kopete-3.5.5-r2)
--------------------------------

I'm a newb and I dunno how important these files are. Thanks in advanced.

Emerge usually states to post the build errors. That being said, what are your CFLAGS & CXXFLAGS? perhaps it is simply stripping those down and re-emerging.
