how do i change W/M's in X.org??? [RESOLVED]

on my quest 2 figure out how to change window managers using X.org(i'm used to XFree), i eventually came across the /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc shell script, that being the only Xorg specific file
with the words kde in it, i decided to rename it, then rename the xinitrc.gnome script to just xinitrc....kill X......... startx...........now i've got kde & gnome running @ the same time!!!!!

any1 know where the proper config is(i've tried xorg.conf)?

cheers!

/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc is just a symlink to the xinitrc script for a window manager (xinitrc.gnome or xinitrc.kde or xinitrc.blackbox, etc).

use ~/.xinitrc instead. it overrides /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.

thanks!! i replaced /root/xinitrc with a copy of the gnome script and it worked fine, but when i moved the kde script back gnome starts up without the task bar so now the only way to open anything is w/ a terminal
