how come when i rip my cd is very slow process

right now i am riping my cd for ther first time and it taking very long time 0.02x it sucks,

It could simply be a problem with the CD. Try a couple different CDs, and check for scratchs/dirt.

I have an applet it is saying that i am using 100% of cpu, the ripping taking much of my cpu

Again, check for scratchs/dirt, and try different CDs.

After doing that, if you want a solution, I'll need to know what software you are using, and any error messages.
