I want to tweak ubuntu 8.04 for faster broadband speed. What must I edit in sysctl.conf to increase broadband speed?

What kind of connection do you have now and what speeds are you getting? (test here)

The speed typical internet connection is mostly a function of the type of connection, line quality, etc. and not of the OS.

If you don't want to tell us what speed you are getting, I have no more ideas.... (Tell us also what speed the ISP advertises.)

It;s not a matter of not wanting - why would I not want to tell you my net speed? Actually I steal my broadband connections. I figure the speeds are in excess of 512 KB/s.
