How Can I tell if ipop3 is on?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to set up my e-mail server on my redhat box.

So far I can send e-mails using smtp, however i cannont receive any

I anabled ipop3 under /etc/xinetd.d/ipop3
and restarted xinetd using /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd restart

But my question is how can i Tell if ipop3 is really on or working since im still not getting any e-mails?

netstat -lnp | grep "ipop3"

If it's running as a server, it should show up when you run that command.
