How can I remote in as the current user with VNC?

I have VNC server set up on my linux box so I can remote in using my Windows box with tightVNC. However, it starts a new X session, so I get my desktop, but I do not see all the same apps that are showing on the monitor of the linux box.

I want I want to remote into the Linux box as the current user, so I see the exact same thing on my VNC viewer as what's showing on the screen on the Linux box. Anyone know how I can do this?
