How can I make Kontact and Google Calendar play nice?
Since Google calendar doesn't support categories, I can't use it as my primary calendar resource. However, I like that I can access it from anywhere and that I can share it with people. I use kontact. Is there a way to:
1) Automatically merge kontact resource files? this would be great, but I can't figure out how to do this. Ideally, if I change something in kontact, I'd like it to update both my google and local calendar files. It seems it only will update the resource file that i have set as my default. 2) Sync my local and remote Google calendars? I guess a cron script would work for this, but I don't know how I could automatically upload my local ics file to google. |
Not sure about kontact/kmail, but Thunderbird/Lightning can be synced with Google Celendar.
Here are a couple of links that may help: Linux.com :: How to make Kontact work with Google Apps http://www.linux.com/feature/122054 bfish.xaedalus.net » Stay in Sync with GCal and Thunderbird. http://bfish.xaedalus.net/?p=239 |
The linux.com guide works. It's what I am using to synce my google calender with kontact
