how can I locate files near end of partition

Hello,
How can I identify files near end of partition so I can move them elsewhere.
The reason I ask is I want to shrink that partition but first I need to identify which files to move off the partition before I can shrink the partition in question

Thanks Glenn

No need to bother usually - use any of the supported tools to do the resize, and it will be handled outomagically.
Including NTFS.

gparted liveCD is generally preferred.
