How Can I Install Word 2007 In Ubuntu 8.04?

OpenOffice sucks, so I want to install Word and Excel 2007 in ubuntu 8.04. 2 questions:

1) Is it possible to ONLY install the .exe files? All I need are just the apps, not the entire Office suite. If so, how?

2) Wil this take up alot of space on my hard drive?

3) Will I be able to print from it in ubuntu?

.

Why not just install Windows and be done with it?

No. Of course it's not. Just the exe files will not work. They wouldn't work alone in windows either. You need to install the office suite just like you would install it on windows, but using wine. From the installation program you can probably turn on/off some options I guess.

According to this page on the wine app database, ms office 2007 will work, at least word and excel should. I haven't tried personally though:

Exactly the same that it would take on windows (the only difference might be due to the minor differences on how different file systems handle the things.

No idea. Probably yes, at least, wine does support cups for printing. Whether that support will work or not with office 2007 is an entirely different thing (all of this, provided that cups do support your printer in one way or another, of course).
