How can I give this kernel a different name when compiling it?

How can I give this kernel a different name when compiling it?
CentOS (2.6.17.7)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.17.7 ro root=/dev/hda5
initrd /initrd-2.6.17.7.img

I have a couple different configurations of this and I want the second one to be called something like:
CentOS (2.6.17.7-B)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.17.7.B ro root=/dev/hda5
initrd /initrd-2.6.17.7.B.img

How can I do that?

Thanks in advance!

Edit the Makefile in your top level kernel directory and set the EXTRAVERSION = B.

You can modify the first lines of /usr/src/linux-version/Makefile:

Code:
VERSION = 2
PATCHLEVEL = 6
SUBLEVEL = 17
EXTRAVERSION = <ANYTHING HERE>
NAME=Crazed Snow-Weasel
Edit: sorry about this double answer. i opened the page before the first post.
