How can I delete a saved file in LibreOffice Writer?

Hi,

I find this puzzling. When I click on 'open' to see my saved Writer files, I also get a list of other things from, say, the download saves.

I would expect that a right-click on a saved writer file would fetch up a panel that includes 'delete'. But it doesn't.

Some help here would be appreciated.

Are you using only Writers menu or your file manager

Jamison220003,

Sorry about the brusque reply. I entered it before I'd finished. But, of course, I now know how to delete using the file manager - I didn't know that files in LibreOffice Writer ended up there.

Many many thanks for your help.

a wild "shot in the dark" GUESS

office is looking in YOUR "Downloads" folder
and NOT the "Documents" folder

or are you saving downloads to the "Documents" folder

No worries just had to know for sure. :)

So, when you open that dialog it looks like a file manager but is not, hope that clears it up. It also remembers the last folder or folders you opened from and like John points out may need to look in other saved spots?

If you want to clear recent documents (list) in open writer?

To put it simply: Writer is not a file manager.
Writer will open a dialogue to show you files which it can open but it is not a file manager so does not give options for working with files.
