How can i access a file from windows PC on the network

Hi
I can access the windows PC and its files from the GUI provided in the fedora 8 and i came to know that it uses the samba server.

I have to write a script which needs a file from the windows PC on the network. How can i do this and what would be the path or some idea.

can anyone please give me solution for this.

Your description of the problem isn't very complete, and leaves quite a few questions.

What I understand from your post is that:
You are writing a script which requires* a file that lives on a Windows PC within a shared directory.

* "requires" can mean quite a few things as well. Does it read this file, write to this file, require it as a module, et cetera?

Is this correct?

Having a very clear understanding of the problem will allow us to help you solve it.

Open a terminal and:

man smbclient

Should have all the information you need.

If you need more help/clarification, post here.

Yes sir,
What you understood is correct, and i want to only read the file and save it in my linux directory, so that i use it for my application.

When my script executes, it reads the file from windows PC. Please tell me how to read it.
