How about another XFree86 - Xorg mystery!

This is a weird one:

The background:

I'm using Xorg 6.9 compiled under slackware 10.0 Linux Kernel 2.6.15.4. What I'm trying to do is to start X with Opera webbrowser in full screen to access a protected area on a website. When I get prompt for the USER PASSWORD, the keyboard won't work in the input field? BUT using the same config file with a different XFree86 binary (4.3.0) the keyboard is working perfectly?!? The log of Xorg 6.9 don't seem to give me any error.

The config I'm using in my XF86Config is

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "kbd"
Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
Option "XkbLayout" "us"
EndSection

Any idea?

Thanks

Claude

without x running try the command
Xorg -configure
this will write a file xorg.conf.new in whatever directory you are in
that might work as a better base or give clues for your xorg
