Hi there,

My system runs under a Debian Sarge 2.6.8-5-686-SMP kernel.
I use an usb mouse, that works with coldplug and get dedected.
But my USB hotplug system doesn't work.
At least hotplug doesn't detect my memory stick and webcam.
The /var/log/messages file doesn't get touched.
and lsusb and usbview just tells me that there is just the mouse and nothing else.

My friend has a computer with the exactly same hardware and Debian Sarge 2.6.8-5-686-SMP kernel. There my stick gets detected.
And when i boot with knoppix on my computer, my hardware get's detected!

I just installed debian as usual und used apt-get to install some more programms.
I think it's a configuration problem or that there is something missing.

Who has a deep knowledge of hotplug?
