Hotmail On Evolution
Hi Every1 this is my first post on this part of the form but I'm just going 2 get right to the point. With Outlook Express and Normal you can make it look at a hotmail or yahoo account or something like that. My question is can you do that with evolution coz i want to make it look at my hotmail account but i don't know how i have tried but i cant seem to get it to see it.

Is it something I'm doing wrong or cant you do it?

All help will be greatly appreciated

Why use Hotmail when there is LinuxMail?
Gotmail, a utility to download mail from Hotmail type accounts

# Common e-mail tools
sendmail - postfix - sends mail to local users (and internet when configured correctly)
fetchmail - gets mail from internet accounts (non-Hotmail type)
procmail - sorts and delivers into separate mailboxes
mutt - mail client that sucks less than all the others

I use fetchmail to fetch my mail and it puts my mail in /var/spool/mail/fancy and then use local delivery in Evolution to get it from there.

Can't you have your Hotmail delivered to /var/spool/mail/<username> using getmail (I don't use it)? I would think that you could.

I use gotmail and forward the mail to where ever it needs to go. Then read it with Evolution. This is nice because you can set it up as a cron job. Below is my configuration file .gotmailrc

However, I have been having problems with the new format of hotmail. There should be new version or fix, I'm guessing, soon.

# This is a sample gotmail configuration file. Rename it to .gotmailrc
# and place it in your home directory to use it.

# See the manpage for more options!

# folders=Inbox, Different Folder
