host command

Hello !

I'd like to set up my own resolver so as to make TXT queries.
When you type the command :

host -v -t TXT myhost.mydomain.com

you got what I want, i mean the TXT field of the DNS related to
myhost.mydomain.com

So I will help a lot if someone told me where to find the source code for this "host command".

Thanks

You just need to make standard DNS query and filter TXT response. I don't know where to take 'host' source form (but I guess gnu.org is a good place to start), but 'dig' can do the same. Dig source comes with Bind.
