Horde/IMP web mail client
Has anyone installed successfully the imp?
I run sendmail and webserver on a SuSE 9.0
Do i need imap connection of a localhost communition?

Yes - squirrelmail is just an IMAP client. Once you have installed an IMAP server you need to run the squirrelmail conf.pl configuration program.

I cannot get IMAP to support SSL. Consequently i cannot connect with the IMAP server, i cannot connect from the localhost either.

What version of IMAP are you using?
What configuration options are you using?
If you are only going to allow access to IMAP via squirellmail then you will not really gain anything unless your mail server is seperate from the web server.

mail and web server is on the same machine.
i use imap-2002d-53
How to get the IMAP to support the SSL?

I have already installed all the packages using Yast in SuSE. When should i compile the IMAP, OpenSSL?

Uninstall the imap package then recompile it.

I am relatively new to unix, so could you describe the step of compile process?
What about system's consistency and the dependencies between the other packages?
