HIDPOINT and missing libpng.so file

I am trying to install HIDPOINT for my wireless keyboard. Install issue stating: can not find libpng.so file in /usr/lib directory.

There is not a libpng.so file in this directory but there is one in the directory /usr/lib/compiz .

Is there a conflict with Compiz, should I link to this file from /user/lib? or should I download a a libpng.so file?

I am using UBUNTU 10.04 Kernel 2.6.32 - 22, 64 bit.

Thanks

/usr/lib/libpng.so is provided by the libpng12-dev package in Ubuntu and is a symlink to /usr/lib/libpng12.so. Make sure you have libpng12-dev installed.

Thanks - That did the trick.
