If its an rpm package just do

$ rpm -i <package name>

If its an tar package, then do,

$ tar xvf <package name>

If its an .tgz package, then do,

$ tar zxvf <package name>

What is that u are exactly looking for ??? Could you please be more specific ???

And also, you can look up the home page of mplayer for the installation instructions.. They are pretty clear and easy to understand I guess...

Cheers...
