I've got my Clicksmart 310 working with the spca5xx module. It comes up with genomeeting fine. I loaded xawtv and webcam but in these it shows a picture-in-picture type of view with a static view of the webcam with a smaller window showing streaming video from the cam. It uses 320 wide by 240 high display but shows this pic-in-pic view in both xawtv and in my webcam pics. but genomeeting shows just the regular image. Any ideas what setting to change to fix this. Or is there any other better webcam software to use in Mandrake 10. I've searched on freshmeat and couldn't find anything that worked right.

OK So I fixed the problem with the padded image using the top,bottom,left and right options in the webcam.conf file. I'll apply it to xawtv later. Thing is I didn't want xawtv. Genomemeeting works a hell of a lot better but it doesn't upload images. Now I've got the webcam app that comes with xawtv partially configured. I have it grab images and for now they are posting to my temp directory. The images look fine and it's posting at 10 second intervals like I want until I xtrl-C. But I can't figure how to configure the webcam.conf file to post the pics to my site. From there it's academic, just making a page to refresh every 10 seconds with the new photo. That'll be easy. My intro page is a meta that jumps to my page one so it'll just be a matter of making another meta page. anyway. The only hang up I have is getting the pic to post to the website. I'm looking for someone whose used webcam (the app included with xawtv) and how they setup their conf file. The man page is little help.
