Hi could anyone give me step to step instructions on hoe to install Kazaa lite...
I've tried but had no success... i couldn't find the directory:
/home/user/.wine/fake_windows/
in my case it should be /home/vera/.wine/C/ ?...
Sorry about this question I'm new to linux
Oh, I have Redhat 7.3.
Thanks in advance

http://frankscorner.org/

You should maybe use WineTools to make the fake windows directory within your ~/.wine/ folder.

depends on how you installed...so that question can't be answered....but what i can tell you is if you installed wine by rpm then you have no .wine folder at all, and you must create it...if you do get winetools from the frankscorner site, all you do is click the button to create a fake windows drive and your done.
it will be then located in /home/user/.wine/c
thats probably the easiest way to go about it.

Thanks I'll try to do that...
I'm quite new at linux... the wine package was installed when I installed Redhat 7.3... I can find the .wine folder in /home/vera/.wine/
but then there's no C: directory in it ?!
I'll try to create it...
Then if I can't I'll bother you some more
Thanks

Use the WineTools to create it, and try using KDE's desktop links to mount your cd drive before trying to run installers from the command line.

Your keyboard layout seems to be non-standard, or non-qwerty at least, and the nearest style seems to be Portuguese. Wine doesn't seem to be able to deal with it atm("Please define your layout in windows/x11drv/keyboard.c and submit them
to us for inclusion into future Wine releases.")
Check the Wine User Guide Keyboard section, as indicated.

Red face Guess Who !

Well I´m back (I had to go to work ...)...
To be honest I really don´t understand how to make wine recognize my keyboard...
From what I understand your keyboard (Proud) is European...
so is mine (I´m Portuguese)... do you have problems with your keyboard and wine?
The error said that the closest keyboard configuration was Portuguese... I am Portuguese...
Forgive my ignorance... I was a Bill Gates fan until I was introduced to Linux not so long ago...
Thanks for your patience

Hmm, I think I remember a little feedback at my command prompt about my keyboard too, but I can't check now-I have installed wine for a separate system user called wineuser to reduce the effect any settings screwup might have.

I mean instead of using wine with my regular account, I created a new one, called wineuser, and log into that one to mess with wine. So that's the only user with a wine virtual windows drive, and that runs installers via wine, etc.

Have you tried googling the keyboard problem, and the "err:win:WIN_FindWndPtr window 10021 belongs to other process" problem?
