Help with Web Page Hosting and Apache2
Hi I am very new to using apache2 this will be my first go at this. However I do have some experience with linux. I am running Debian Sarge and I apache2 installed and running. I was just wondering if someone could give me some help. I am going to be hosting about 4 to 5 web pages with this server for customers. I already have a web server running on M$ NT 4.0 and I am going to need to take the web pages from that server and relocate them to this new linux server. I really don't have any idea what i am going to need to do. I did not know if anyone would be able to offer me some assistance on this or point me in the right direction to get these web pages up and running. Here is the site that I followed to get apache up and running

Yes when I punch in the address of my machine I do get the default apache web page. So any thought on this would be greatly appreciated. If you need anymore information please let me know.

Thanks again.

i have some running on my linux server. easiest way is to create a user for each site and allow /~youruser/ to access each one, or use symbolic links to them. each user can have a /public_html/ that apache looks for, and will load your index.html that it finds there. Of course, this being linux, you can change the default names and even which page and where apache looks. Try going through your /etc/apache/httpd.conf file, good stuff in there

BTW, you can see how this works, frames works and multi-users some with http passwording on my site
