So I dang-o did an apt-get dist-upgrade last night and it had a server option for my Gui {kde} pop up and I not knowing exactly which one to use I just took a guess like an idiot lol. So basically 2 of my computers are down and my room mate is killing me..So far I think it's 2 missing files from my /usr/bin area.. I'm using kanotix {debian-sid} btw.. So here's what it tells me when I type in startx.. Can anyone help me?
#startx
xauth: creating new authority file /home/Username/.serverauth.13776
/usr/X11R6/lib/xinit/xserverrc: line 2: /usr/bin/X11/X: no such file or directory
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xserverrc: line 2: exec: /usr/bin/X11/X: cannot execute: No such file or directory
/usr/X11R6/bin/xinit: Server error.
Actully I still have my .kde file in my home directory.. So should I still install a fresh kde or is there a simpler way to get kde into my /usr/bin file?
okay so dang-o I tryed apt-get install X and it made a small diffrence in how things were working but now here's the put out
#startx
/usr/X11R6/bin/xinit/xserverrc: line 2: /usr/bin/X11/X: No such file or directory
/usr/X11R6/lib/xinit/xserverrc: line 2: exec: /usr/bin/bin/X11/X: cannot execute: No such file or directory
{than it takes a min or two than outputs this}
giving up.
/usr/X11R6/bin/xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
/usr/X11R6/bin/xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
Any more suggestions? I'd really like to get my trash working again and thx for the suggestions so far hopefully we can get it up before tommarow night.
