My problem is that I'm using the minimal gentoo Live CD, and obviously I need my network to run in order to this, yes I could download the Universal CD to install. But I'm going to run into this problem later on anways. I had the same problem earlier when I installed Slackware 10.0 but i read that if i turn off Plug n Play that my forcedeth driver would work, so I did. Now I'm having network problems with gentoo. Please help. I tried all the suggestions from the handbook none of them worked. I'm using a DHCP connection with no required hostname or Domain name.
