Help with Epiphany

I've gotten sick of how slowly Firefox runs now, and I want to switch to Epiphany. However, I want to be able to use extensions in it, and not just the epiphany-extensions package. I want to be able to use Mozilla extensions in it. The Epiphany web page says it's possible: "Epiphany runs all the same popular plugins that run in Mozilla."
So, I learned that I needed to set xpinstall.enabled to true in about:config. I did that, and I can install the extensions, but they don't show up in the extensions dialog, and don't seem to be doing anything. They seem to be properly installed, as there are several jar files in epiphany's chrome folder (~/.gnome2/epiphany/mozilla/epiphany/chrome/) matching the extensions I've installed (bbcodextra.jar, foxytunes.jar, launchy.jar, mab.jar, ook.jar, pagestyle2tab.jar, textplain.jar).
So, is there something else I need to do to get these extensions working in epiphany? I just don't know what to do. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Nobody on this board knows how to get Mozilla extensions working under Epiphany? How is that possible? Are there no Epiphany developers reading this board? Geez, when I first started coming to LQ, I always got at least some suggestions.

I assume you've installed all the epiphany development libraries and the epiphany extensions. It runs on Mozilla's gecko engine so it certainly seems like it should work. Googling "epiphany mozilla extensions" turned up a few issues perhaps specific to Fedora, but I didn't read them.

I'm planning on installing it on my AMD 64 soon. Just waiting for a few more things to hit Debian Etch so I don't have to get pieces from Sid.
