Help with cu command
I have installed Fedora 6 and am new to linux. I am trying to connect a 56 k modem via serial port and program the modem to change certain registers inside it. I have done this before in red hat systems using the cu command. My fedora system is not recognizing the cu command. Do I need to install something called UUCP. If so, how do I do that? Please help.
Thanks I started minicom from the terminal. It recognized the modem and am able to program the modem using at command. However, I cannot save the changes I made. For example, if I set the baud rate to be 9600 and exit minicom, when I open minicom again, it resets the baud rate to 115200. I don't know what am I doing wrong |
Your right, the cu command is part of the UUCP package. If your installer disk does not have the UUCP package, you can find it here:

FYI, F6 is out of support. F8 is ok, F9 came out last mth.

Thanks guys. I was able to download the uucp from one of the mirrors in this link and it worked just fine. I am now able to execute the cu command by opening a shell. |
